Out With the Old, In With the New

Today is the second day of the New Year. I got up after 10:00 A.M. which is later than usual for me. My dear husband has made me coffee every morning for the last two weeks while we have been on holiday. Ok, so I really call the time off a vacation but holiday sounds fun. Today my husband and I shared the local paper as we enjoyed our last 'vacation morning'. While drinking my coffee that was made with love, I joked that all the ads consisted of treadmills, workout DVD's, sports bras and fitness madness. Did you know that Under Armour carries CoolGear and HeatGear? HeatGear is on sale even though it is only 20 degrees outside.

The ads got me thinking about today's photo journal. A new year, a new start. This is the time of year people make resolutions to change their habits, declutter, and maybe discover something new. One of my family's goals is to become healthier in 2011. We picked up an assortment of fruits and veggies at the farm market the other day and did not buy one bag of chips.

The saying Out With the Old got me thinking about my car.  She, (I think my car is a girl) has sat in the garage for just over a year.  She has over 215,000 miles and needs a few minor repairs to be back on the road. I see her every day and have watched her transform from the my shiny silver GTP to a catch all shelf and a bike prop or so my kids thought.  My goal for 2011 is to drive my girl again. My husbands refuses to let me drive her to work based on reliability and the fact that it would be difficult getting her towed from a multi-level parking ramp. (Yes, she has been towed a number of times.) But I can't wait to smell the leather seats again, open the moon roof and crank the stereo while zipping down the road in my supercharged girl. The only 'out' this car will be doing is getting out of the garage and onto the road!

~ Even with all the dust and rust, you are still my favorite ~
